This one is completely subjective to the lifestyle a family wants. Northern Utah County puts you closer to employment, dining, entertainment, and transit corridors, including light rail. Southern Utah County puts you closer to walking trails, lakes, mountains, and campgrounds — and OHV trails — with less crowding and traffic, but longer commute times and fewer amenities close by.
School districts across Utah County all seem strong. Micah has had seven kids go through two different Utah County school districts — one north, one south — and loved both. Teachers and administration in both were genuinely caring about the kids’ well-being. He particularly loved Nebo School District, in South Utah County, for its focus on mental health specifically.
No single area is objectively better for every relocating family. It depends on how you want to use what’s around you day to day, and the lifestyle you’re actually looking for — not a ranking anyone can hand you from the outside.
